Capturing a stylish family session in Central Park is always a great way to spend part of my day, and this one definitely hit the mark! With the city’s most iconic park as our backdrop, this session had all the elements of a luxurious family photo experience. Mom looked stunning in a classic white dress, paired beautifully with her daughter’s soft pastel pink outfit and dad’s blue suit. The styling brought a refined feeling to their family photos while still keeping things relaxed and playful.

No matter which direction you walk, Central Park has endless options for portraits! For this family’s session, we spent time among the white blossoms beginning to show in the park and along the lake. I adore the fact that we captured how busy the park was and didn’t worry about creating portraits that felt empty. It really gives the gallery a burst of life!

Before filling in getting ready photos, portraits, or detail photos, start with the times that are already set. Your ceremony time is usually the biggest one. From there, add in anything else with a firm start time, like transportation, cocktail hour, dinner, sunset, or the end of your venue rental. Once those pieces are in place, it becomes much easier to build the rest of the photography timeline around them.
