Black Tie Woodway Country Club Wedding in Darien CT
Bea and Nick are two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. Their love story reminds me that magic is possible - and their incredible Woodway Country Club wedding in Darien CT was a classy celebration of their next chapter together. Beatrix and Nick grew up in the same areas - spending summers at Woodway Country Club, near each other on sports fields and even working for the same company after college graduation but never meeting until 2021. Thanks to a first date set up by Nick’s cousin, who was also a friend of Bea’s sister, they finally met. They knew they had an immediate and undeniable connection… and now they’re married!
When they began planning, Beatrix and Nick knew that the celebration was going to be black tie, with a classy and chic look. Throughout the day, Beatrix had three varying bridal looks, each one more elegant than the last. She started the day for their ceremony with a lace detail topper over her strapless wedding gown and she wore her mother’s veil. That was particularly special given her parents were married at Woodway almost to the day, 34 years prior. For the reception, she removed the lace top and added a classic double pearl necklace (also from her mom). Then she ended the night in a mini dress with Gucci platform heels and the yellow dress was a nod to her childhood nickname (Bumble Bee!).
Beatrix and Nick chose an elegant palette of black, white, and sage green for their wedding day. It was the perfect combination against the backdrop of Woodway Country Club. Beatrix’s bridesmaids wore a variety of dresses and they all looked amazing together! We had a beautiful evening for their portraits around the club and they had the most fun reception. Their dance floor was packed all night long, thanks to the live band.
Congratulations again, Beatrix and Nick! Your wedding day was simply stunning!

Fall is one of my favorite times for engagement photos in New York. The weather is cooler, the city starts to change, and it is such a good time to walk around together without dealing with the summer heat. Whether you want fall colors in Central Park or more of a city feel in your favorite neighborhood, there are so many ways to plan a fall engagement session that feels like you.
