Luxury Destination Wedding on Nevis Island in the West Indies

I absolutely loved capturing Marin and Matthew’s wedding on Nevis Island. It was such a fun and meaningful weekend at a private family residence in the West Indies, which made everything feel really personal from start to finish. This wasn’t just a destination wedding for them; it’s a place they’ve spent a lot of time in and will keep coming back to for years. The island itself is unreal, with so much natural beauty everywhere you look, and it sets the tone for the entire celebration.

A Welcome Dinner and Catamaran Celebration

The weekend started with a welcome dinner and a catamaran trip, which was such a fun way to kick everything off. Everyone got to relax, hang out, and really settle in before the wedding day. The boat ride was full of laughter, drinks, and those candid moments that just happen naturally when everyone’s having a good time. By the time dinner started, it already felt like one big group of people who were excited to celebrate together, which made the whole weekend feel even more special.

A Ceremony Beneath the Banyan Tree

The ceremony took place under a massive banyan tree, and it was one of the coolest settings to photograph. It felt intimate while still being really impressive visually. Everything about the design was clean and intentional, letting the location speak for itself instead of overdoing it. The natural colors of the island really stood out, and the setup worked perfectly with the surroundings instead of competing with them.

Outfit Changes and Personal Style

One of my favorite parts of the day was seeing all of Marin’s different looks. For the first look, she wore a gown with a big overskirt and skipped the veil, which felt really modern. For the ceremony, she added a cathedral-length veil that moved so nicely in the breeze. Then for the reception, the overskirt came off and revealed a more fun party look. She also included pearl details throughout, including her earrings, which tied everything together in a simple but thoughtful way. Their grand entrance to classic jazz music was such a fun moment and really set the tone for the night.

From Elegant to Full-On Party

As the night went on, the vibe shifted in the best way. It started out feeling really elevated and put-together, and then slowly turned into a full-on party. People were on the dance floor all night, shoes came off, and everyone was just having the best time. One of the standout moments was their second dance, which had everyone gathered around and completely locked in on them. It felt like the perfect mix of a beautiful, well-designed wedding and a really fun, high-energy celebration, which is exactly what they wanted.
