What’s it like to work with you?

At the heart of my work is care. I care deeply about my clients, their people, and the experience they have from the very first conversation through the final images.

Working together feels collaborative, thoughtful, and relaxed. From the planning stages on, I’ll share guidance, ideas, and insights to help you feel supported and confident as your day comes together. I’m always available to answer questions, talk through possibilities, and help you make choices that feel true to you.

By the time your wedding day arrives, we’ll have a plan that feels easy and intentional. I’ll be there with a calm presence, ready to gently guide when needed and step back when the moment deserves to unfold naturally. Sometimes that means offering fun direction to help things flow beautifully. Other times it means letting laughter, emotion, and energy take the lead.

My goal is for you to feel fully present, cared for, and free to enjoy your day. You can trust that everything meaningful is being captured with artistry, intuition, and a deep respect for what this day represents in your life.

What type of equipment do you have?

I work with a mix of high end digital and film cameras, choosing the right tool based on the goal of the image. My kit includes Canon full frame digital cameras, a Leica for its beautiful perspective and intimacy, medium format film with a Hasselblad for depth and timelessness, and a variety of 35mm film cameras for movement, emotion, and spontaneity. Each brings its own texture and soul to the final story.

Our team always carries multiple professional camera bodies, lenses, lighting, and backups. We use professional ProPhoto lighting when needed and are fully prepared for any scenario.

How many images do we get, and when do we get them?

Your images are delivered as high resolution JPEG files in a beautifully curated online gallery, which includes one year of complimentary cloud storage. Gallery delivery is my top priority, and you can expect to receive your images within six weeks of your wedding.

I don’t promise a set number of photographs. Instead, I deliver the full story of your day, thoughtfully edited to my highest professional standards. In general, couples receive approximately 75 to 100 images per hour of coverage, and the gallery you receive reflects the complete and final collection.

Do we need to give you a photo list?

I don’t work from long shot lists, because they tend to interrupt the natural flow of the day and pull focus away from real moments. What I do need is insight. We’ll talk through what matters most to you, the people you hold closest, and any moments that carry extra meaning.

On our final planning call, I’ll gather a concise list for family portraits and key details. From there, I ask for your trust. My approach is intuitive and experience led, allowing me to anticipate moments as they unfold and tell the full story of your day in a way that feels effortless and true to you.

Do you shoot film or digital?

As a hybrid photographer, I shoot in both formats. As an artist, using a film camera connects me with the photographers I’ve admired throughout history. As a professional, using a digital camera allows me to take advantage of the latest tools. I use my best judgment to decide when the right moment is for each, and you’ll love the look of all of your photographs.

Do you have liability insurance?

Absolutely. I’m fully insured, and venues commonly request a Certificate of Insurance in the weeks leading up to your wedding. My team takes care of sending everything over, so you can rest easy knowing it’s handled.

Should we do an engagement session?

An engagement session is a wonderful way to build confidence and ease in front of the camera before your wedding day. Think of it as a low-pressure dress rehearsal. You get to experience what it feels like to be photographed, learn how I guide you, and walk into your wedding day already knowing what to expect.

Couples who do an engagement session often feel noticeably more relaxed on the wedding day because they’ve already done this together. Beyond that, it’s also a meaningful way to document another chapter of your story.

We personalize the session together, from location to timing to overall vibe, so it feels less like a photo shoot and more like a fun date night that just happens to be beautifully photographed.

What if one of us doesn’t love being photographed?

This is the most common question I hear, and it’s completely normal. Many people feel camera shy, especially if they haven’t been professionally photographed before.

My approach is relaxed, guided, and focused on connection rather than posing. An engagement session is a great way to get comfortable, and almost every couple tells me afterward that they were surprised by how natural and enjoyable it felt. My goal is for you to feel like yourselves and for your images to reflect your energy, not a version of you that feels forced.

Will you help me with my timeline?

When you book me as your photographer, I’m with you for the whole journey. Throughout the process I’ll offer my expert advice on anything you ask, from bridal party outfits to flowers. And I consider putting together a photography timeline to be one of my most important priorities. About two months before your wedding, we’ll set up a phone call to discuss your day. From there, I’ll sketch out a detailed timeline for us to review together. There’s no better feeling on your wedding day than having a plan you feel fully confident in.

How would you describe your editing style?

My editing style is intentional, cohesive, and understated. Every image you receive is fully finished and reflects my signature aesthetic. Inspired by the softness and depth of film, with true to life color, luminous skin tones, and a quiet elegance sensibility.

I don’t believe in over editing or endless variations. Your gallery is carefully curated and delivered complete, so you can trust that what you receive is the full story, finished with care and consistency.

What happens if you get sick?

I have never missed a wedding in my life, and I don’t plan on missing one in the future. However, I do have a plan for the remote possibility that I am physically unable to photograph your wedding. I have a team of accomplished and skilled professional photographers who are able to take my place in an emergency.

Who is your team?

I hold every member of my team to my robust standards. I hand-pick my second photographers based on their artistic eye, their professionalism and their images. And I train them to make sure that they act with the care you would expect from anyone at Asher Gardner Photography. If your collection includes a second photographer or third photographer, you can be fully confident in their work.

What makes a great experience together?

The best experiences are built on trust, warmth, and presence. I work best with couples who value artistry, feel deeply, and want to fully live their day rather than manage it.

When you trust me to guide the process, stay open, and celebrate freely, the experience becomes relaxed, joyful, and fun and the images reflect that energy in the most honest way.
